Swann House Phase 5: Reveal Part 2
The staircase was carefully deconstructed throughout the build process, as stair treads were repaired and refinished and the pickets and railing were carefully painted and restored. We accented the ascension of the stairs with a beautiful custom runner. We love incorporating client art, and this stair leads up to a striking and oversized artwork of two boxers. The artwork serves as a bold focal point at the top of the stairs, surrounded by neutral walls and wooden accents, creating a blend of modern and classic interior design elements.
At the top of the stairs is a secondary guest room, serene and stylish with a light wooden bed frame. This room is all about texture and pattern. Fluffy and whimsical pillows on the bed, subtle blue textured wallpaper behind the headboard. Soft, patterned curtains create a beautiful backdrop of deeper blue and textured lamps, all resulting in a graduating tonal environment and soothing atmosphere. The gold chandelier with sunburst style illuminates the room, adding elegance and tying into the other room details.
Mixing bold art with unexpected decor is the secret to creating a space that feels truly unique and unapologetically you. Whether it's a golden crocodile or a Churchill portrait full of personality, these pieces are what make a home memorable.
The guest bathroom upstairs was a treat to design. Bold flamingos wrap around the walls, creating a tropical and playful vibe. A custom bold, demilune, pink vanity with a black marble countertop was the perfect accent for the small bathroom and allowed us to utilize an otherwise challenging design corner with existing plumbing. The blue hexagonal floor tiles add another layer of pattern to this vibrant, eclectic space.
The Primary Bedroom revealed! With views to beautiful parklands directly below, this bedroom is not just a sanctuary, but a space were elegance meets comfort. From the tufted headboard to the statement chandelier, every detail in this space is carefully curated to create a restful space that's both stylish and serene.
Our secret to designing bedrooms that feel like retreats? Don't underestimate the power of layered textures and subtle contrasts – the secret ingredients to achieving that luxe look without going overboard.
The primary bathroom was completely redesigned, utilizing space from adjacent rooms and incorporating black marble and custom cabinetry.
Being drawn to the beautiful original window positions, we imagined a freestanding white tub set against a backdrop of black marble wall tiles with views to the park. A sparkling glass chandelier adds a touch of elegance. Utilizing custom marble hexagon tile design allowed us enhance the sophisticated and serene atmosphere of the space with an updated aesthetic that invites long soaks in a tub at the end of the day.
I never met a powder bathroom or water closet that I didn’t want to wallpaper and this bathroom was no exception. The art deco inspired paper is both textural and unique and we love the touch of glam it brings to this space when the door is opened.
Designing the historic Swann House was a dream come true. Our design team thrives in learning about what works with the existing bones of a space, and reimagining a home so that it can truly reflect each owners style and design.
